Trolls cupcake recipe!

Trolls style cupcakes! Recipe adapted from Hummingbird recipe.

𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
•140g caster sugar
•120g plain flour
•1 ½ tsp baking powder
•A pinch of salt
•40g unsalted butter, at room temperature
•20ml whole milk
•1 egg
•¼tsp vanilla extract
• Blue and pink food colouring.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴:
•600g icing sugar, sifted
•300g unsalted butter, at room temperature
•A couple of drops of vanilla extract
• Blue and pink food colouring.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱:
• Hundreds and thousands or other edible sprinkles like eyes – to decorate.
•Cupcake tray, lined with paper cases

𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗗
1) preheat the oven to 170°C (325°F) Gas 3.

2) Pour in flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter and use a handheld electric whisk (or whatever you have) and beat on slow speed until you get a sandy consistency and everything is combined.

3) Pour in half the milk and mix. Continue mixing for a couple more minutes, add the rest of the milk until the mixture is smooth.

4) Separate the mixture into two bowls and add pink food colouring to one and blue to the other.

5) Spoon both mixtures into the paper cases until two-thirds full and bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until light golden and the sponge bounces back when touched.

6) For the frosting, beat 600g sifted icing sugar and 300g butter together (with your chosen flavouring, optional) and separate into two bowls then add pink to one and blue to the other and whisk away til light and fluffy!

7) When the cupcakes are cold – fill a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe onto cupcakes in a twirl!

8) Decorate accordingly! Winnie added some pretzels and rolled up icing as a Headband!
