SIX Louth Pocklingtons Bakery treats you NEED to try / Lincolnshire.

ABOUT

Pocklingtons bakery is a fabulous establishment that has been family run and managed since 1924, started by Cyril Pocklington, the 3rd youngest of 14 children of a Louth Miller, James Pocklington.

At present Cyril’s grandson, Christopher and his wife Tina, run the business.

Pocklington's Bakery

They have a shop of own in the small market town of Louth and also a well stocked market stall in Top Town Market, Grimsby. They have a modern bakery situated in the small village of Withern, where the family have lived since the mid 1800’s.

Although some products are not available to buy direct from the bakery they supply many businesses right across the county! Their famous Lincolnshire Plumbread is available across the county and also available by mail order plus they can post worldwide if required.

The bakery maintains traditional baking methods, such as, baking fresh crusty bread, sour dough, eccles cake and soft rolls using traditional recipes. They cook all their own meat for pies, pasties and savouries – all sourced from the local butcher or direct from the abattoir and wherever possible they use locally sourced ingredients from locally grown wheat for flour to local eggs for their cakes. Even the Milk for their delicious Egg Custards comes from the local dairy!

MY THOUGHTS

I’ve always enjoyed food from Pocklingtons bakery as they make the most yummiest food which I posted on Instagram.

They have great prices, the flavours of each product is fantastic and it’s awesome they source locally and food is fresh.

I think it’s also great they can offer both Vegan and non vegan in today’s society plus according to their website they are working on gluten free too!

Definitely recommend this bakery.

  2. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to
get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say that you’ve done a great job with this. Additionally, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Safari.
    Superb Blog!

  3. OMG….. I need to go to England. I need those. I love Pastries. The cherry almond treats. I really, really, really need those. Like a whole pan. Do they ship overseas? I’m sure I can convince my husband that I need me some of that! 🙂 Thank you for sharing. While I sit here and eat my lonely plum and drool over the pictures, le sigh. Found you from the facebook group for bloggers supporting bloggers. Take care!
